AQUASORB PRODUCTS TECHNICAL REPORT (AGRICULTURE)
GRASS AND LAWN
AQUASORB PRODUCTS can be useful for growth cycle of lawn and grass, especially in its germination, for a quick growth, to reduce transportation caused stress, and for roots establisment.
The rain water or irrigation collection and storage reduces the costs in watering and also gives relief for those areas of hard growth and "hot places". This application is important for golf courses, and also for private and public gardens. |

These are the necessary steps to obtain a successful plantation:
1. Treat the soil manually or by plowing.
2. Extend 50 g / m2 AQUASORB over the area. The range of application (grames per square meter) must be adapted according to the climate and soil conditions but also depending on the water requeriments of the plant. The polymer can be dosed manually or with a fertilizer distributor.
3. Incorporate the polymer at 5 cm. below the non-treated ground at 10 cm depth maximum. The incorporation can be made by hand, using a shovel or mechanically with a plow disk. The soil, anyway, must be leveled.
4. Scatter the grass seeds or place the lawn rolls. Then make a good compactation. Fertilizer scattering is recommended.
5. Water the field conveniently to allow a complete soaking up of the product.
6. The area of planted land must normally be watered during one week. Then the frequence of irrigation must be reduced to its half with the same amount of water than before.
The recommended product is AQUASORB 3005 KM.(particle size 0.3 to 1 mm).
PLANTS, BUSHES AND TREES TRANSPLANTATION
AQUASORB products can be effectively applied in holes for plants, bushes and trees. The range of applicación varies from 1 to 2 kg/m3 according to the sand content in the soil.
The details for a sucessful plantation are:
1. Dig a hole as big as three times the volume of the roots. Then estimate approximately the hole volume (Length X Width X Depth) in litres or cubic meters.
2. According to the volume, mix from 1 to 2 kg AQUASORB per cubic meter coating (land). The application range (kg/m3) depends on the sand content of the soil. The more sand it contains, the more amount of product must be added. The polymer needs to be mixed with the coating. Separate part of the non-treated coating (land). The first 5 cm of coating should not be mixed with the polymer to avoid the damage by UV action and the cutting (crevices) that the water makes on the land surface.
3. Place the tree in its proper position and progressively replace the coating in the hole. Make sure that the polymer is well distributed along the root. Finally, cover the surface with 5 cm. of non-treated coating.
4. If the plantation is made during dry or low irrigation season, the hole must be watered for 2 weeks to allow the total soaking up of the polymer AQUASORB. Then the irrigation can be reduced to its half.
5. If the plantation is made under rainy conditions, AQUASORB will retain big amounts of water, and then it will progressively release it. However, it is suggested to water the hole for one week to allow an immediate action of the polymer. The recommended product is AQUASORB 3005 KL.(particle size between 0,5 and 3,15 mm)
ROOTS DIGGING AND SOWING
The roots digging is a technique that protects them before plantation against the water stress for long distance plants transportation. It consists of immersing the roots into a mixture prepared with very fine particle AQUASORB and water. To prepare the "slurry" (mud) mix 1 kg. AQUASORB in 150/300 lts of water (according to water quality or hardness). Let the product rest for at least 15 minutes. Adjust the mixture viscosity to obtain better adherence to the root. When the fine polymer is mixed with water, make sure that the powder polymer is slowly poured and that the water is carefully shaked.
The slowest the jelly is prepared, the more the stickiness will increase and it will allow a better adherence to the roots. Finally put the roots of the plant or the tree inside the mixture immediately before the plant transportation. The same technique may be adapted to protect the sowings.
The suggested product is AQUASORB 3005 S.(particle less than 0,3 mm).
HYDROSOWING
AQUASORB and FLOBOND can be effectively applied in hydrosowing in mountain areas or in the walls that withstand the roads. One problem related to hydrosowing is that in certain places there is no adequate water in the surface for the seed to germinate. The cellulose protective coatings may weigh a maximum 10 times their weight in water. If the new hydrosown areas are not being irrigated and there are no rainfalls, not all seeds will germinate and the vegetation will not develop and the soil erosion will be higher.
For hydrosowings, add from 1 to 2 kg AQUASORB fine particle per cubic meter water together with protective materials (paper or cellulose fiber), fixing agents (FLOBOND), seeds and fertilizers. Depending on the desired water retain, the type of the soil and the salt content in water, one hectare can be hydrosowed with only 10 to 20 kg. polymer. FLOBOND may also be used together with AQUASORB. FLOBOND is a polymer that links the hydroprotector system components. By keeping the components together, it avoids the loss due to the wind and water erosion, FLOBOND maximizes the establishment of the plant. FLOBOND is put into the hydroprotector tank once all the components have been added. FLOBOND needs at least one hour of great shaking to get well mixed in the solution.
To hydrosow one hectare it will usually be required the following components:
Water........................6000-10000 liters
Seeds........................200 kg
Fertilizers...................200/300 kg
FLOBOND.................3/5 kg
Paper........................400-1200 kg
Coating and/or
AQUASORB..............10/20 kg
The suggested products are :
• AQUASORB 3005 KM (particle 0,3 to 1 mm)
• FLOBOND A30
SURFACE APPLICATIONS
For a surface application, AQUASORB can be effectively applied for bed of flowers, horticulture harvests, ornamental gardens, etc. They can be useful for the growth cycle of the plant, especially in germination, quick growth, and roots establishment. The rain and irrigation water collection and storage can reduce water jobs and costs, as well as give relief to the hard growth areas and "hot places".
The details for a successful plantation are as follows:
1. Treat the soil manually or by plowing.
2. Dose 100 grames per square meter (100g/m2) AQUASORB on the surface. The polymer can be added by hand or with a fertilizer distributor.
3. Insert the polymer inside the soil at 10 to 20 cm deep according to the development of the plants roots. The insertion can be made with a shovel, or mechanically with a plowing disk or a cultivator.
4. Put the plants inside the soil and then water them to allow a total soaking up of the product.
5. The planted area must be watered usually for one week. Then, the irrigation can be reduced to its half with the same amount of water as previously used.
Another method consists in the treatment of the areas with little amount of AQUASORB in each plant holes. This method is economical when the product is applied only in the root zones.
The application range will be 2 kg/m3. The watering of the plants activates the polymer and then the frequence of irrigation will be reduced to its half.
The suggested products are:
• AQUASORB 3005 KM for crude soils.(particle 0,3 to 1 mm)
• AQUASORB 3005 KL for finely texturized soils.(0,5 to 3,15 mm.)
SEEDS COATINGS
AQUASORB micronyzed 3005 "S" (particle less than 0,3 mm.)can be mixed homogeneously with the seeds. The powder adheres to the seeds surface by electrostatic charge.
As a general rule it is recommended to use 1 kg. AQUASORB per each :
100 kgs. small seeds
200 kgs. medium seeds
250 kgs big seeds
This technique is applicable for alfalfa, cereals, cotton, pine trees, eucalyptus, etc. The coating can improve the germination 25 % as well as the root development during the first growth phases.
This technical information is provided in good faith and it is true according to our knowledge. This does not exempt our customers to essay AQUASORB products through different means under their exclusive responsability.
